Alan Downie joined Hughes Associates A&E in 1997 and leads architectural design and project management in the Industrial, Healthcare, and Laboratory sectors. Alan has worked with Carilion Clinic, LewisGale/HCA, Centra Health, CBRE, and Novozymes Biologicals. He oversees Hughes Associates A&E’s sustainability initiative and designed the first LEED-Silver project in Botetourt County.

In his spare time, Alan enjoys standing in wilderness streams waving a fly rod and photographing whatever fish may appear.
